FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Before your appointment
Keeping our clients happy is our number one goal here at Empire Lash. In order to help ensure your lashes stay on for the longest period of time, it is highly recommended you wash your hair before your lash appointment. This ensures your new lashes will stay out of the water for at least 24 hours. Be sure to also remove any makeup or eyeliner you may have on. This ensures your lashes get a good bond, adding days and even weeks to your lash life.
The lash bond takes 24 hours to fully care so it is important to avoid steam, sweating and water during thi time. Makeup remover, makeup, and facial products used around the eyes should be oil free. Be gentle on them and avoid picking, pulling, and sleeping on your lashes. Be careful of high heat around your eyes such as from cooking and blow dryers. And always, mascara and eyelash curlers are a Big no-no.
How often do I need to get fills?
To maintain the life of your lashes it is recommended that classic and volume fills be done every 2-3 weeks. Clients should come in for a fill when 50% of their lash extensions have shed. Clients with less than 40% will be considered a full set.
Will eyelash extensions ruin my natural lashes?
No, this is a common myth. Eyelash shedding is part of the natural eyelash life cycle. The average person sheds between 2-5 lashes on each eye daily. That is why it is necessary to come back for fills every 2-3 weeks. If applied correctly eyelash extensions will not hurt your natural lashes or cause premature shedding.
Empire will keep the integrity of yout natural lashes. We will not apply lashes that are too heavy or long for your natural lashes to hold.
What is a Lash Lift?
Lash Lifting is a technique where a Lash Artist will use a curling agent and conditioning solution to lift your natural lashes making them look longer and fuller. Lash Lifting services also include a Lash Lint to darken the lashes and enhance the lash line. If you are sensitive to Eyelash Extensions, Lash Lifts are a great alternative and requires less maintence.
How long do Lash Lift results last?
Lash Lift last 8-12 weeks depending on the lash shedding cycle. The service only takes about 1 hour less than your average lash extensions.
